2023-National County Government Month (NCGM)

April marks National County Government Month (NCGM). NCGM, has been celebrated every April since 1991. iWorQ Systems is proud to celebrate the services and programs that county governments provide to help our local communities thrive.

NACo (National Association of Counties) Announced this year's theme for NCGM which is Counties RISE!” They explain that “RISE! stands for Resiliency, Inclusion, Solvency and Empowerment - and the exclamation point speaks to the enthusiasm and passion with which they tell those stories.”

NCGM is a great time to recognize the importance of county government employees and the role they play in making a difference. Even if that is posting an appreciation post or saying thank you to them when you pass them in the hall. There are over 3,000 counties in the United States and their hard work helps drive our nation forward, keep us safe, and shape how our communities grow.

Counties have a huge impact on many aspects of our daily lives, including our infrastructure and transportation. These responsibilities include everything from maintaining our roads, bridges, public facilities, utilities, and solid waste management to providing public transportation.  Counties also play a significant role in ensuring the well-being of their citizens through many public health and safety services, such as law enforcement and fire protection. They help to preserve recreational/heritage sites and invest in community libraries, parks, senior centers, and facilities that citizens can benefit from. They also assist with managing public records and elections.
