iWorQ’s Best Moments of 2017

With now 2017 gone, we decided to reflect on the 5 accomplishments and events that made it iWorQ’s best year yet!

In 2016, Garyn Perrett, iWorQ’s CEO, announced that iWorQ would be improving their service request application with new features and abilities. In 2017, Citizen Engagement took off and has assisted citizens and government staff all over the nation.

iWorQ’s Citizen Engagement software is a mobile and web-based public portal for citizens or staff to submit requests.  This tool connects citizens and staff with one another for speed and efficiency and can be used for citizen complaints, applying for a permit, code violations, request for inspections, or internal staff requests.

The new features included a fresh, modern look to post to your website, along with the mobile application for Apple or Android devices. Now you can upload pictures to go along with your requests and include GPS coordinates.

Citizen Engagement has helped counties and cities more thoroughly upkeep their roads, buildings, signs, and improve overall public safety. Because citizens can track the progress of their requests, it’s reduced the need to make calls to the city.

This year’s iWorQ User Conference was a huge success! Over 145 users from all over the Nation joined us in beautiful Utah to learn more about their iWorQ applications, to get their questions answered, to meet the staff they work with over the phone, and to have some after-hours fun. Our users favorite part of User Conference is getting to spend one-on-one time with an account manager and receive personalized training. Over a hundred trainings were completed this year and helped improve users management processes and answer their questions. Fifty classes were conducted covering all the iWorQ applications including permitting, code enforcement, work and asset management, licensing and fleet.

After two days of classes and trainings, all attendees had a chance to go golfing, hiking, to the spa, indoor rock climbing, or a trip to Bear Lake – all provided by iWorQ. Both attendees and staff had a blast and we can’t wait for next year!

Nikki Ethington, Project Manager, has been working at iWorQ for seven years. She decided to create a health challenge for twelve weeks to help iWorQ employees become more active, boost their moods, promote productivity, and improve overall health.

There were two competitions. The first competition was to have the most weight loss percentage. The second competition was to have the most health points. A point was awarded for daily exercise, following your personal nutrition plan, and using the office gym. There were also weekly team challenges employees could compete in to obtain even more points. The winners of the competition were Clint Robison with a 6.1% weight loss and Nikki Ethington with the most points! Participating in this competition not only helped with the company’s overall health, but was a fun thing to do together.

 Jackie Martinez, a senior in civil engineering, was taking her senior design class and was given the task to evaluate a damaged neighborhood and establish proposals to rehabilitate the area for the City of Syracuse, New York. Jackie decided iWorQ would work perfectly for her research and presentation. She used iWorQ to evaluate the roads in a neighborhood in Syracuse called Hawley-Green. Utilizing iWorQ, Jackie and her classmates followed the quick and easy steps of assessing the road condition based on the severity of cracks. This determined the remaining service life for these roads. iWorQ was also able to give an estimation of the cost breakdown to rehabilitate the roads very easily and gave the judges a realistic idea of what had to be done. Her team won the award for “Best Senior Design Presentation” and was told it was in part because of the research that iWorQ helped with.

We are proud to have helped Jackie with her project and that our software has the ability to help counties and citizens everywhere.

Along with a lot of hard work this year, iWorQ employees had some fun along the way. This year for our Christmas party, we decided to switch things up a bit. With the new Star Wars coming out, iWorQ rented a whole theatre auditorium for a showing party! We also had a barbecue at our headquarters, a food truck make a special trip to us this year, a golfing competition between employees, and the opening of our new onsite employee gym!

We had the best year and we are thankful for all of iWorQ users and staff who have made that possible! What was your favorite part of 2017?
